The Role of PTFE Sprayed on The Wall inside The Water Box of LiBr Absorption Unit
Polytetrafluoroethylene is a polymer made by polymerizing tetrafluoroethylene as a monomer, and this material is resistant to acids, alkalis, and various organic solvents, and is almost insoluble in all solvents. LiBr solution is corrosive, especially at high temperatures, and may cause corrosion of the metal interior. Although the unit material has been done anti-corrosion treatment, PTFE coating can further enhance the corrosion resistance and extend the equipment life.
Then it is anti-scaling, water may produce scale in the cycle because it contains impurities or high hardness, especially in parts with large temperature changes. PTFE has a smooth surface and does not easily adhere to scale, which reduces scaling, maintains heat exchange efficiency and reduces maintenance.
Another role is to improve the heat exchange efficiency. Because PTFE, although its own thermal conductivity is generally, but the surface is smooth, can reduce the resistance of fluid flow, promote turbulence, thereby improving heat transfer efficiency.
