Unveiling the Large Delta T Absorption Heat Pump
With the rapid advancement of China’s urbanization, the demand for centralized heating has increased significantly, yet many regions are facing limited heat supply. To address this challenge, Hope Deepblue has developed a LiBr absorption large delta T heat exchanger technology. This system can be understood as combining a LiBr absorption heat pump with a plate heat exchanger, which is why it is referred to as a large delta T absorption heat pump. It enables "large temperature difference, low flow rate" heating, achieving over 70% primary energy utilization on the user side. As a result, it significantly enhances the heating capacity of existing systems without expanding heat sources or pipeline network, alleviating the imbalance between supply and demand in urban heating.
The working principle of this unit is mainly divided into the following two circulation systems:
① Primary Network Side: Cooling of High-Temperature Water
High-temperature primary network water flows in series through the generator, plate heat exchanger, and evaporator, releasing heat step by step. First, the primary network water acts as the driving heat source in the generator, releasing heat after cooling down. It then flows through the plate heat exchanger to exchange heat directly with the secondary network water. Finally, in the evaporator, its heat is extracted by the evaporation of refrigerant water, allowing it to return to the primary network at a very low temperature, creating a substantial supply-return temperature difference.
② Secondary Network Side: Heating of Low-Temperature Water
The secondary network water is split into two parallel paths: one part flows sequentially through the absorber and condenser, absorbing heat released during the LiBr absorption heat pump cycle to increase its temperature. The other part flows through the plate heat exchanger to exchange heat directly with the primary network water. After heating, the two streams of secondary network back water are mixed to reach the supply temperature required for heating.
With this cleverly designed , Hope Deepblue enables the secondary network water to achieve a higher temperature than the primary network back water, realizing a "reverse" elevation of heat. In the industrial application of LiBr absorption units, the large delta T absorption heat pump demonstrates significant advantages. It can address localized heating deficiencies and pipeline capacity constraints in heating substations, as well as be deployed centrally at the heat source side to enhance the overall pipeline transmission capacity, offering an economical and efficient solution for energy-saving retrofits in urban heating systems.
