Project location: Xinmi City, Henan Province

Selection of equipment:
2 unit direct fired absorption chiller
1 unit exhaust&hot water absorption chiller

Main function: Cooling and heating

This project is located at the Maternity and Childcare Hospital of Xinmi City, Henan province. Customer selected 2 unit direct fired absorption chiller and 1 unit exhaust&hot water absorption chiller from Hope Deepblue.

Direct fired absorption chiller is used to provide cooling or heating during the generator/CHP set if off. The exhaust&hot water chiller are adopted to recover the waste heat from generator set, which is called CCHP system, to provide cooling and heating for the hospital.

Besides absorption chiller, there are some other back-up components on site, like 2 air source heat pumps, 5 unit axial fans and 1 unit plate heat exchanger on site. Each unit plays important role in the whole system.

When only power is needed by the hospital, customer start up generator set, then exhaust generated by generator set will be discharged directly after denitrification and the jacket water and intercooled water will be delivered the axial fans for heat rejection at the top of machine room.
In other case, jacket water enters plate heat exchanger through 3-way motor valve to exchange heat, then the hot water will be stored in a water tank, delivered to each room during evening if necessary.

When power and cooling are needed by the hospital: customer start up generator set, then exhaust generated by generator set enter exhaust&hot water absorption chiller as the first heat source after denitrification. At the same time, the jacket water and intercooled water enter the exhaust&hot water chiller as the second heat source. Cooling water is pumped to the cooling tower, after cooled, it will be transported back absorption chiller. At last, chilled water generated by chillers enters water distributor box and will be transported to the terminal through pumps.

When generator set is off and only direct fired LiBr absorption chiller works: chiller is driven by natural gas to provide cooling for the hospital. The flue gas produced by direct fired absorption chiller will be discharged through the special chimney. Two direct fired LiBr absorption chiller on site are also equipped with heating function. In general, both chiller can provide heating in winter and cooling in summer. When heating, the main part of the chiller is off - turn off the valve between high temperature generator(HTG) and the main part. That means absorption chiller main body works as a boiler, to provide hot water for the hospital.
